Meghan's Story

IMG_1072.HEIC

At 19 years old, I was a collegiate swimmer in college when I developed severe hamstring pain. After being dismissed multiple times by medical professionals and mocked by my teammates and coaches for “faking my pain”, I was finally diagnosed on my 12th hospital visit with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

I completed 5 rounds of chemotherapy through a clinical trial and was ruled cancer free in July of 2024. My final form of treatment was completed in September of 2024 with my last antibiotic and my port removal. I am also involved with other nonprofits including the Logan Strong Foundation and Leia’s Kids.

Since my diagnosis I founded Meghan’s Mission Inc, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing comfort and joy to those facing medical challenges. What began as a simple desire to support “superkids” has grown into an organization spreading sunshine to families throughout the country.
